Roy Colsey. One of the all time greats in the sport of lacrosse, Roy's career has been defined by tough play and big goals. His aggressive style of play and amazing scoring scoring ability have earned him a number of prestigious honors. A four time college All-American and two time National Champion at Syracuse University, Roy was named the 1995 Midfielder of the Year after leading Syracuse to it's second championship in four years. From Syracuse it was on to the NLL and the bone crushing play of indoor lacrosse. As an american player, Roy learned the indoor style of play and quickly became one of the top players in the league. He was named First Team All-Pro and led the league in scoring during his best year with the NY Saints. And finally, there was the MLL. Roy was designated one of the top six players in the world and assigned to the Bridgeport Barrage as their marquee player. While success came slowly, Roy and the Barrage turned their team from the worst team in the league into the first ever MLL Dynasty. The Philadelphia Barrage have won three of the last four MLL Championships including back-to-back championships in 2006 and 2007.
OK, so you're not interested in his lacrosse career. Roy is married with three young boys and lives in Ridgefield, CT. He teaches Physical Education at Robert E. Bell Middle School in Chappaqua, NY where he coaches the Modified Football Team. In 2009, Roy took over as the Ridgefield High School (CT) Varsity Head Coach. He led his Tigers to a 20-2 record and their first ever FCIAC title. When he's not coaching or spending time with his family, he enjoys mountain biking, fishing and golf.
